Eater of blades
break my bones
with moonstone
teeth, smooth
and archaic
as underground
lakebeds
I decompose
to layers
of silt within
the morass
of your dark
throat, swallow
my selves
to touch
your stomachs,
cherish my eyes:
delicacies rich
with minerals
allow this
lost voice
to flow through
your forgiving
bowels, to gasp
for freedom
as silent
combustible
perfume.

There is no birdsong, there is
the furious sleeping of toads in the mud.
I came on the bench
where I slept in the warmth of your memory
this time last year.
Now the thought seems less mine and maybe it was
me you'd dreamt beside,

I find this poem to be SUPER impactful. You managed to say a whole lot with just a few words AND you've captured powerful emotions within them. Nice work on the structuring here- it adds an appealing visual quality that makes the poem interesting.
